Oboist Lauren Williams is a dedicated musician, music librarian, and educator.

From 2019-21, and 2022-23, she was Acting Associate Principal/English Horn of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in Virginia. She previously worked as a busy freelancer in New York and Connecticut, and has performed with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, New York City Ballet, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Her playing has been praised by The New York Times, The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC) and described as "a clear highlight of the evening" by the Santa Barbara News-Press.

Lauren is a dedicated private oboe teacher, and is particularly passionate about working with young musicians and facilitating access to arts education. She is also of Armenian descent and was the recipient of an Armenian General Benevolent Union Performing Arts Scholarship from 2013-16. In December of 2019 and 2014, through the AGBU, she was a featured artist at Weill Recital Hall, as well as in December of 2018 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Lauren also has extensive experience as an arts administrator. In 2022, she was Interim Community Programs Manager of the New Jersey Symphony, and is the Music Librarian and Personnel Manager of the Lake George Music Festival.

Lauren holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School in Oboe Performance, and a Master of Musical Arts degree from Yale School of Music. Upon graduation from Juilliard in 2014, she was awarded the John Erskine Commencement Prize, presented to one undergraduate for scholastic and artistic achievement. In 2010, Lauren was a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
